Communication links and costs - Conclusion

Take heart;  here at Linguistic Connections Ltd we have become experts on discount telephone companies,  many of whom offer cheap Voice IP services.  Yes, it would be cheaper for you to call your student than for them to call you. Unfortunately,  multinational companies are not at liberty to subscribe to the same discount telephone companies that we as individual can.  Therefore, we cannot expect them to call us, if we don’t live in France.  If we did expect our students to call us anywhere in the world, we would end up not having any telephone students at all!!!

The good news is that most of our students are in France. When using Voice IP,  the cost of communications to France will be the same for all of us - US$0.0204 per minute or about €0.017 euros per minute -  no matter where in the world we live.

IMPORTANT: Please check out any telephone discount companies in the country you are residing in.  There are usually more than one about.   For us here in Cyprus, Cyta and PrimeTel do provide great discount services which enable cheap communications within  our geographic zone of operation- even if they don’t quite compare with Skype or Inphonex – who are in fact the cheapest discount telephone providers.
